Who we are
Plamiro ("we", "us", or "our") is an AI-powered tutoring application for children in grades K–8. We are operated by Bryan Bresnan. Our email is hello@plamiro.com.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Plamiro is designed for use by children under 13 with parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Specifically:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent.
- Parents create the account and control access. Children do not sign up directly.
- Parents may review, modify, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting us at privacy@plamiro.com.
FERPA alignment
Although Plamiro is not a school operator, we follow FERPA-aligned practices as a matter of principle: student education records are used only to provide the tutoring service, never disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes, and parents retain control over their child's records.
What we collect
- Account data: Parent name, email address, child's first name and grade level.
- Learning data: Session logs, answers, mastery progress, Kudos balance.
- Photos: Images of handwritten work uploaded for AI review. Photos are processed by our AI service, stored encrypted, and deleted after review is complete.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system (standard server logs). Not linked to child identity.
How we use data
- To provide personalized tutoring (the only primary purpose).
- To improve our AI models — only on aggregated, de-identified data. Child-identified data is never used for model training without explicit opt-in.
- To send parents session summaries and product updates (you can unsubscribe any time).
What we never do
- We do not sell your data or your child's data. Ever.
- We never show advertisements to your child. There are no ads, sponsored lessons, or brand placements anywhere inside the Plamiro app.
- We do not use behavioral tracking of any kind inside the Plamiro app (app.plamiro.com), where your child works. No advertising or analytics tag from any third party runs there.
- We do not build commercial profiles of children, and we never use a child's activity to target advertising — on this site or anywhere else.
- We do not share data with third parties except: (a) our cloud hosting provider (Microsoft Azure) under a data processing agreement, (b) our AI inference provider, under a data processing agreement, and (c) Google, which receives standard web-visit data from the advertising tag on this marketing site only — described below.
This marketing site vs. the app
These are two different places and we treat them differently on purpose.
- This marketing site (www.plamiro.com) is for parents. When we run ads, we need to know which ones bring people here, so this site loads Google's advertising tag. It sees the standard things any web visit sends — page address, referrer, browser, approximate location from IP — and Google may use it to measure our ads and to show Plamiro ads to people who visited. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com, or block it with any tracker blocker. Nothing on this site asks for or receives a child's information.
- The Plamiro app (app.plamiro.com) is where your child works. It carries no Google tag, no advertising tag, and no third-party analytics of any kind. Your child's lessons, answers, photos, and progress are never sent to an advertising network, and are never used to target ads at anyone.
AI usage disclosure
Plamiro uses AI models to: (1) generate adaptive lesson questions, (2) read and review handwritten work photos, and (3) provide feedback messages to learners. AI responses are supervised by our curriculum team and subject to ongoing quality review. No AI decision is used to make binding determinations about a child's academic standing.
Data retention
We retain account and learning data for the duration of the subscription plus 90 days. After that, data is permanently deleted. Parents may request earlier deletion at any time.
