Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-23

This is a draft disclosure. Real legal review is required before Plamiro launches publicly.

Who we are

Plamiro ("we", "us", or "our") is an AI-powered tutoring application for children in grades K–8. We are operated by Bryan Bresnan. Our email is hello@plamiro.com.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Plamiro is designed for use by children under 13 with parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Specifically:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent.
  • Parents create the account and control access. Children do not sign up directly.
  • Parents may review, modify, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting us at privacy@plamiro.com.

FERPA alignment

Although Plamiro is not a school operator, we follow FERPA-aligned practices as a matter of principle: student education records are used only to provide the tutoring service, never disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes, and parents retain control over their child's records.

What we collect

  • Account data: Parent name, email address, child's first name and grade level.
  • Learning data: Session logs, answers, mastery progress, Kudos balance.
  • Photos: Images of handwritten work uploaded for AI review. Photos are processed by our AI service, stored encrypted, and deleted after review is complete.
  • Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system (standard server logs). Not linked to child identity.

How we use data

  • To provide personalized tutoring (the only primary purpose).
  • To improve our AI models — only on aggregated, de-identified data. Child-identified data is never used for model training without explicit opt-in.
  • To send parents session summaries and product updates (you can unsubscribe any time).

What we never do

  • We do not sell your data or your child's data. Ever.
  • We do not serve advertisements.
  • We do not use behavioral tracking for commercial profiling.
  • We do not share data with third parties except: (a) our cloud hosting provider (Microsoft Azure) under a data processing agreement, and (b) our AI inference provider, under a data processing agreement.

AI usage disclosure

Plamiro uses AI models to: (1) generate adaptive lesson questions, (2) read and review handwritten work photos, and (3) provide feedback messages to learners. AI responses are supervised by our curriculum team and subject to ongoing quality review. No AI decision is used to make binding determinations about a child's academic standing.

Data retention

We retain account and learning data for the duration of the subscription plus 90 days. After that, data is permanently deleted. Parents may request earlier deletion at any time.
